The Complutensian Polyglot (Cardinal Francisco Jiménez de Cisneros, Alcalá de Henares, Printed 1514-17, published 1522). The first printed polyglot Bible: Hebrew, Latin and Greek in parallel columns on the Old Testament page, with the Targum beneath, and Greek beside Latin in the New. Its Greek New Testament was set in print before Erasmus's, but Erasmus published first and the Complutensian waited years for papal clearance — which is how the Received Text came to descend from the hurried edition rather than the careful one.
